Home Canning and Preserving Workshop-
Lacto-Fermenting with Wendy and Joe
6-8:30pm, $50 

Join us as we explore the amazing flavor and health benefits of lacto-fermenting! It is one of the easiest ways to preserve food, while maintaing and even adding nutritional bonuses!
We will learn how to preserve food with lactic fermentation, a technique which requires neither canning or vinegar.  
We’ll make sauerkraut, kimchi and dill pickles through the lacto-fermentation process. You will go home with goodies which will continue fermenting so you can experience the entire process. We will not be having a whole meal in class but there will be lots of sampling and snacks on hand. Space is limited.

Join us at In the Kitchen for a very special morning cooking class featuring famed authors and cooks, Joanne Neft and Laura Kenny who will cook and discuss recipes from their new book, The Art oF Real Food….seasonal recipes for each week of the year. Joanne and Laura are also authors of Placer County Real Food and gives classes and talks all over the country on cooking and eating seasonally using what is grown locally in your region. ‘Waking up to the perfect cup’ with Adam Montgomery and Steffen Snell
10am-12 noon, $35

Coffee is full of character; in flavour and texture, through to it’s socio-economic and ecological impact.  This class  is a comprehensive study session tracing coffees path through history, the cultivation process, roasting, and bringing focus and science to the ritual of pulling the full potential out of your coffee.
We will be demonstrating and tasting a variety of specialty coffees using pour over, french press, Aeropress, and also cold brew systems of coffee extraction. Also covered will be maintenance and cleaning procedures for your home brewing equipment.
