The sweet faces behind In The Kitchen’s “Kitchen Share”

August 10, 2012

There are a handful of cottage industry food producers that work out of In the Kitchen during the off hours. They range from RAW foods, to baking, to small hand pies, to CSK and even a non-profit food service through the Sierra Nevada Hospital Foundation!

We recently had our first quarterly meeting and it was such a pleasure to get together potluck style and chat about what it means to be part of a kitchen share. The most touching and real comments made included, communication, respect, trust, friendship, working hard together and community.

True that sistas! That is the kind of environment I want all of my work life to be in!

You can enjoy Atma’s Next Level Foods at the Nevada City Farmer’s Market and her pies at Briar Patch, Amanda of FABLE coffee is also at the NC market, Brenda Janssen is building a food cart that will serve yummy hand pies all over town, Susan of Nana’s Bakery sells yummy baked goods at the North Star House Market as well as at the Wild Plum cafe in downtown Grass Valley, Ann Wilder is Head of comfort Cuisine, cooking food for recovering cancer patients and caregivers and Jessica owns Lemon Star Larder and started the Nevada City Food Swap and co- founded Nevada City CSK.
