The Nevada County Certified Growers Market is in full swing at the Northstar House, Saturdays 8-12:30
One of the many community members that use In the Kitchen is Susan Meager of Nana’s Bakery! She sells her divine baked goods at The Nevada County Growers Market! Here is a bit of info about what to expect at the market that just opened for the season last Saturday!
If you go, make SURE to visit Nana and get one her apricot and white chocolate scones!! They are to die for!
This week, in addition to some early produce, we are expecting to have gluten free cupcakes and cookies, Indian food—naan, sauces, fresh samosa’s, chutney Oranges, dried fruit and nuts, metal and garden art, fresh salad greens, pea pods, indian food—naan, sauces, fresh samosa’s, chutney, chard, veggie starts, handmade local soap, homemade dog food, lamb, eggs, gourds, handmade pottery, lavender, the coffee van, salmon chowder in a bread bowl, nursery stock, scones, cinnamon rolls, breads, pies and more.
We will have live local music weekly. Mim Meakin offers a free art project for kids the 1st Saturday of each month, and our long time garden art and metalwork expert will be offering a metal project for kids the 3rd Saturday of each month.
The Northstar House, built in 1905 and designed by Julia Morgan, is open on Saturdays during the market. We are a half mile down Old Auburn Road from the Fairgrounds, and look forward to seeing you!
