Big Sur!
We had a beautiful weekend in Big Sur……..in my opinion, one of the most beautiful coastal stretches of California….or the world for that matter. Big Sur is one of those places that feels electric, alive, sacred.
Big Sur is eighty-miles of what some have called the most heartbreakingly beautiful coast in the world. Highway 1 winds from San Simeon to the south to Carmel to the north; stretching above hundreds of feet of cliff and the boundless blue of the Pacific Ocean.
We stayed at Deejten’s Inn:
Rooms at Deetjens are cozy, rustic and decorated with a blend of antiques and funky treasures from the past. Grandpa Deetjen designed and built the Inn over a span of three decades, from the 30′s to the 60′s. Each room has a unique personality. Cotton floral prints cover the beds, and you will find 100% linen sheets underneath. The windows look out onto the lush redwood forest or the charming gardens.
Big Sur has some wonderful restaurants which are an important part of our getaways anywhere
Big Sur Bakery is always a 2x stop for me, one for baked goodies and one for dinner……..the citrus morning bun is where it’s at, especially with a big, creamy latte.
We also had an elegant, yet comfortable dinner at Ventana. Joe had an amazing roasted parsnip soup that was poured into his bowl as it was served on our table, great presentation!
In addition to enjoying the sound of the rain, each other’s company and great food……..we also got married!
In a simple, private and intimate ceremony, we said our vows of love and commitment to each other, here are some photos…….

Thank you all for being a part of our lives, we appreciate your friendship, In and Out of the kitchen.
Love, Wendy, Joe and Felix!
