Thursday Night Communal Bread Bake
The Bluebird Farm contingency has decided to revive the Thursday night summer potlucks……..only they have centered the gathering around a communal bread bake. They have built a cobb oven at the Wet Hill Road homestead off Cement Hill Road. A cobb oven is a wood fired oven made from clay and straw.
Around 6 pm you show up with your already made pizza, bread, tart, or anything else you can bake in an oven and they will bake it for you. While you wait you can hang out with farmers, community members and other families sampling each others goods and trading baking tips.
I went to the first one last night and it was so much fun, I met some new people and enjoyed being outside by the fire. I definatley came home with a carb overload that should last till next week!
